The Covid-19 Pandemic shook the world to its core in March this year with every industry in the world being structurally and financially affected and millions experiencing a major shift in their daily lives. As office desks were traded for living room tables and people started to move their projects online, many found themselves resorting to online web conferencing platforms such as Google Meet and Zoom to fulfil their communicative needs.

The continued use of Webinars has contributed to a much wider preference for online conferencing with many workers continuing to work remotely and utilising these platforms for most of their professional communication.

As the world’s activity slowed down, Myreze quickly realised that new sources of revenue had to be created, and after the recent success of Lykkeshow combined with the growing need for employers to find a flexible solution to keep workers synchronised and focused — Myreze knew that virtual technology was their most important pursuit for the foreseeable future.

Myreze therefore decided to develop Myreze Virtual Conferencing: a new immersive platform for virtual communication designed to create a visual experience that builds a stronger connection between remote workers.

“In this virtual world it’s not about the virtual itself, it’s about using an amazing tool to tell stories in new ways”

-Bjørn Myreze

CEO, Myreze

On April 29th using their extensive experience in set production, Myreze utilised one of their top of the line virtual studios to be used as the stage for a revolutionary conference that explored how the virtual solutions of today could pave the way for tomorrow’s communication and the future of virtual technology in the work environment.

The live streamed conference featured Myreze CEO Bjorn Myreze, the design director for Perkins & Will: Yan Krymsky, and the founder & experience strategist for The Collaboratorium: Kathleen Cohen.

“Covid-19 has probably been the biggest PR campaign to force people into understanding how important this is.”

-Kathleen Cohen

Founder and experience strategist, The Collaboratorium.

The panel were placed within adjustable monitors behind Bjorn, who had the ability to move them to the side to give a 180° view of the studio and further emphasised the importance of trading in traditional backdrops for high quality immersive environments.

The conference was live streamed on YouTube and enabled viewers to ask the panel their questions and give their feedback. From virtual concerts to the potential of virtual conferences, the stream spanned a range of topics asking the question: What is the solution for tomorrow?

“In terms of the limited real estate that we have to make a presentation, this seems like a much more effective use of that real estate, thinking about interviewing or pitching the power of this tool is really exciting”

-Yan Krymsky

Design director of Perkins & Will

A big thank you to Yan Krymsky and Kathleen Cohen for taking part in this inspiring discussion and exploring the latest advancements in virtual technology with us.
